The race management team that ran the RS:X course at the 2012 Olympics have returned home from Weymouth. Led by Rob Lamb, the 39 members of the team were joined by Ross Wilson (AUS), Ilker Bayindir (TUR) and Nathalie Peberel (FRA) who acted as the International Technical Officers.
The 27 members of SolentXtra embraced an additional 12 volunteers to form the team that ran the Olympic course for the RS:X for the last time. The entire SolentXtra team has invested much time and money into the training required for this event, the most prestigious regatta on the planet. This has involved officiating at events across the country over the past 5 years or so.

The 22 races run for the RS:X Olympic sailors went without a hitch and resulted in GBR sailor Nick Dempsey lifting the silver medal. Bryony Shaw in the women's fleet was 7th overall and, whilst she is disappointed not to medal, this is still a very creditable performance.
Rob said, "The team did a fantastic job and managed racing to the highest standard. They did not miss a beat! I am immensely proud of them."
