Real Life:  Retired Clinical Project Director managing clinical research projects for pharmaceutical clients for 30 years following a background in nursing and midwifery.  Continue to work part-time as the Class Secretary for the X One Design Class Association – my fun job!  Awarded the Cowes Week Ladies Day Trophy in 2011.  Editors's note:  This trophy recognises outstanding contribution, commitment, or achievement of women in sailing.

Clubs: Royal Southampton Yacht Club; Itchenor Sailing Club; Ocean Cruising Club.

ISAF/RYA Qualifications: Regional Race Officer; Powerboat Level 2; RYA Coastal Skipper;  Shorebased RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and Ocean; Sea Survival; VHF; MCA First Aid and Medical Care Aboard Ship.

Race Management Experience: 12 years with club and event race management teams.  Disciplines include one design keelboats, Olympic classes, dinghies, boards, multi-hulls and cruiser racers.

Major Events: Laser Masters World Championships (2010); ISAF Sailing World Cup Events x 2 (Sail for Gold, 2010-2011); National Championships - RYA Eric Twiname Championships 2012; Cowes Week x 2 (2004 & 2010).

Sailing and Racing Experience:  Sailed since the age of 13, cruising with friends and family in UK waters and abroad, completing the ARC in 2002 - in 22 days!   Owned and raced an XOD since 1983, competing in club racing, open events and Cowes Week as helm or crew.
