Real Life: My career was that of Bank Manager, which was pleasantly cut short at 53. Since then I have fulfilled many of my life ambitions and in addition, have been able to be heavily involved in my yacht club, more latterly as Honorary Treasurer and then Guardian.
Clubs: Royal Southampton Yacht Club.
ISAF/RYA Qualifications: Regional Race Officer; Coastal Skipper; Powerboat Level 2; VHF/DSC.
Race Management Experience: Have been involved with race management for many years mainly for keelboat cruiser racing and multihulls and for the past 4 years for dinghies and boards.
Major Events: World Championships x 2 (Dart 18 2010, Laser Masters 2010); Olympic Test Event 2011; ISAF Sailing World Cup Events x 3 (Sail for Gold, 2009-2011); Irish Cruiser Racing Association (keelboats) National Championships, Ireland 2009; Cork Week 2010; Cowes Week x 13 (1998-2010).
Sailing and Racing Experience: My sailing achievements are modest - family cruising was the mainstay with local racing.
