Real Life: Retired Wing Commander RAF having served as a pilot flying Vulcan’s, Victors, Canberra’s and E3D AWACS and when serving with the USAF B52s, K135s, and KC10s.  Now semi retired, instructs on sailing and power boats and a delivery skipper of all types of vessels.  RYA Principal & Chief Instructor.  Commodore Royal Southampton YC.

Clubs: Royal Southampton Yacht Club.

ISAF/RYA Qualifications:  Regional Race Officer; Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor Sail; Powerboat Instructor; Yachtmaster Offshore Power and Sail; Safety Boat.

Race Management Experience: 10 Years at Club level, National and International events.  Disciplines include dinghies, Olympic Classes, boards, keelboats and multihulls.

Major Events: World Championships x 2 (Dart 18 2010, Laser Masters 2010); Olympic Test Event 2011; ISAF Sailing World Cup Events x 3 (Sail for Gold, 2008-2011); Firefly National Championships 2009.

Sailing and Racing Experience:  Sailed for 40 years all types from sailboards, canoes, dinghies, powerboats and large cruising/racing yachts.  Long distance blue water experience across Atlantic, North Sea, Mediterranean, Biscay and Caribbean.  At present racing a Maxi 340 in double handed inshore and offshore series.
