They Did It!

SolentXtra team member, Jo Lucas, and Keith Sammons tied the knot on Friday September 2nd in Winchester.  Mr and Mrs Sammons went on to celebrate their wedding further the next day with a Wedding Breakfast on No Man’s Fort in the Solent.  A fantastic day was had by all made especially unique by a cruise around Portsmouth harbour in the early evening followed by a drinks reception on the viewing platform of the Spinnaker Tower.  …

SolentXtra Mark Layers at ACWS Portsmouth

Paul Jackson and Martin Stephens have been selected as two of the six mark layers working at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series, Portsmouth.  A great honour indeed and a reflection of the standard of the SolentXtra Team.

Keith Plucks up the Courage

ISAF Sailing World Cup to Include Weymouth from 2015

Weymouth, Great Britain and Hyères, France have been named as the European venues for the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup series.

The selection of Weymouth and Hyères adds to the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup line-up which kicks off in Melbourne, Australia in December 2014 before visiting Miami, USA in January 2015.  …

SailFest has 18’ Skiff Nationals

The SailFest event is now to include the 18’ Skiff Nationals as part of its event this coming weekend.  They join the Alto, Byte and ISO classes that also have their national champinships within the event.

Whilst the entries stand at 35, more are expected on the day.  …

J Class want SolentXtra

The J Class are to have a stand alone regatta in Falmouth in 2015 managed by SolentXtra. They are already attending the Royal Yacht Squadron Bicentinary International Regatta from 26th to 31st July in the Solent and want something beforehand.

Lionheart and Ranger

The Falmouth Regatta will run with racing from Tuesday 23rd June until Saturday 27th June 2015 inclusive.  …

SailFest Attracts Nationals

SolentXtra is to take charge of the race management of the 2nd Festival of Sail to be held at Calshot over the August bank holiday weekend (23rd to 25th).  
Ten members of the team will be there led by Peter Knight.

The AltO, Byte and ISO classes have already confirmed GJW Direct SailFest as their 2014 National Championships, alongside several other major classes designating the event on their calendars. 

Scuttlebutt Europe on SolentXtra 

A press release has been made by the Delta Lloyd Regatta organisers highlighting the contribution to be made at the 2014 regatta by the SolentXtra team.  The Delta Lloyd Regatta is part of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup series.  The article was published by Scuttlebutt Europe on 18th May.  …

Congratulations to John who has been awarded the RYA Regional Race Officer qualification.  

His application to the RYA was very impressive with lots of activity on the water over the past few years.  John ran the Scow Nationals last year and is due to run the IRC Double Handed National Championships out of Royal Southampton YC at the end of June.  …

SolentXtra to Run RS:X Course at Delta Lloyd Regatta

The Delata Lloyd Regatta has invited SolentXtra to run the RS:X course in 2014.  This is a bold move by the organisers who are determined to demonstrate to the sailors that they want to provide the best race management possible.

Mike Garvey will lead the team of 12 with Peter Knight as his deputy.
